The World of Miniature Trains - Tourists from Alto Vicentino

Description

The museum is constituted by Prefect Aligi Razzoli's collection (a room is named after him), another official of the State Police who cultivated a great passion for model railway. He started his collection after the First World War and then he constantly enriched it with industrial and artisanal production models, until reaching more than a thousand specimens.

The models are arranged according to their category and period of belonging, in order to create a complete overview of transport history and model railway in Italy.

Inside a further room stands a layout which occupies a surface of almost 120m and reproduces the railway stations of Vicenza, Schio and Cittadella with a double tracked railway line which extends for almost 250 metres between mountains and galleries. In addition, there are two single tracked secondary lines, one of which has a digital operation. The entire track ha been conceived to be a constant source of surprises; in fact, it does not exist a point of view from which you can catch the entire development of the track, it needs to be followed step by step. The landscape, accompanied by little moments of daily life reproduced in miniature, contributes to enrich the view.
