Description

Starting point: S. Maria (carpark in the vicinity of the church)

From the town of S. Maria (last dwellings westbound) climb the path and cross che provincial street, then keep going towards the same direction. After a crossing take the street to cava di quarzite (slight detour: if you go down towards east for a while, you will find two very old chestnut-trees, one of them is probably the oldest chestnuts-tree of Tretto).

Instead of moving to the provincial street, turn right, cross the lawn and follow the path which leads to the area of quarry in the vicinity of Pozzani di Sotto. From here you can enter the mineralogical are of Pozzani which which is almost dilapidated but still fascinating. (detour: it is also possible to enter a safe and short gallery, Buso Bedìn, from Saccardi street - Pozzani di Sotto in the vicinity of the crossroad to Pinzarle).

Cross the district to go down along a paved path until the paved municipal street. By climbing that street for almost 100mt you will reach a path on the left. Cross it in the western direction to return to S. Maria.
